Mount Etna erupts
Mount Etna, Europe's most active volcano, located on the island of Sicily, erupted again on the night of April 22, 2025, spewing red-hot lava and volcanic ash over the city of Catania.
This natural phenomenon, observed by thousands of people and recorded by several volcanic observatories, confirms the intense seismic activity in the region. At an approximate height of 3,300 meters, Etna is one of the most monitored volcanoes in the world, attracting not only volcanology experts but also tourists fascinated by the force of nature.
Despite the magnitude of the volcanic explosion, no significant damage was reported. The episode reinforces the need for constant vigilance by the Italian Civil Protection, given the potential impact on inhabited areas.
